County and district council services
People from Abroad Team offers a specialist social work service to help support assessments (Human Rights assessment, Care Act) in relation to people who are citizens of other countries; or British citizens who are returning following a period of settled residence abroad. The team works in all 7 district councils, working in collaboration with partner agencies. Initial enquiries should be made via the council's Customer Service Centre on 0344 800 8020.
Psychosocial and therapeutic support
Fresh Start - New beginnings - offers therapeutic sessions to child sexual abuse victims aged 0-18. Professional should contact FSNB for a referral form and criteria.
Legal support
Norfolk Community Law Service -offers free independent specialist legal advice services in: Immigration, Debt, Welfare Benefit appeals, Family, Domestic Abuse, Employment, Discrimination, Housing Mediation and other general matters. This includes navigating and accessing rights and entitlements including exploitation. Find contact information here.
Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority - is a government agency which offers support and advice to people who have experienced exploitation or are at risk of it and can assist with the investigation and prosecution of identified offenders. Support includes legal advice and advice to navigate the criminal justice process. Referral via the Victim Coordinator. Workers confidential reporting line, by form or via the GLAA Intelligence team on 0800 432 0804.
Integration
Norwich International Youth Project - offers drop-in youth activities, English classes and individual support/signposting for young people aged 11-25 who are seeking asylum or have refugee status, with a focus on emotional and psychosocial support.
